In this edition of PI InSight, Mark Gillespie and Michael Julian join your host Tim O’Rourke to discuss a range of topics.  Mark Gillespie is a 28 year veteran of Law Enforcement/Forensic Science and the owner of Gillespie Investigations in Austin, TX.  Mark is also the current President of the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators (TALI)

Michael Julian is the President/CEO of National Business Investigations based out of Riverside California.  Michael is a second generation investigator who succeeded his father who started NBI in 1967.   Michael is also the current President of California Association of Licensed Investigators (CALI).

What will British PIs see in 2014

GIMG.tv host Dean Beers and Tim O’Rourke talk with Phil Johnson of JJ Associate International.  Phil has been a private investigator in the United Kingdom for over two decades.  During the show Phil discusses what 2014  and PIs in England may expect as the government moves to begin regulation of the profession.

Phil also talks about the News of the World scandal that brought this move to regulate the PI profession to the worlds attention and collapsed a news organizations which started in 1843.  According to the Guardian Newspaper, PIs were hired to tap phones and hack into computers of several organizations across multiple industries. This in the United States is of course illegal and private investigators licensed and trained would never engage in such activity.  Much of these activities would be cause for criminal charges against the PIs.

In this episode of PI Insight, Tim O’Rourke had a discussion with Jim Casteel who is the President of the Alabama Private Investigator’s Association  regarding the new law passed in 2013 which requires PI’s to be licensed in Alabama.  Like Florida since the 1980’s private investigators would need to undergo a state and national background check and provide proof of 4,000 plus hour of experience.

During the show Jim made a reference to the Alabama Private Investigator Board as a location to get more information about the new law, the board members and how you can get licensed in Alabama as a Private Investigator.
