News from Associations
The National Council of Investigation & Security Services (www.NCISS.org) is assisting Florida (www.FALI.org) and Texas (www.TALI.org) fight very restrictive drone, GPS and public records access issues. Please visit https://salsa4.salsalabs.com/o/50788/c/148/p/dia/action3/common/public/ for these Calls to Action that you can quickly send a letter opposing these bills and protecting our colleagues and profession.

The National Association of Legal Investigators (www.NALI.com) will be holding its annual conference in historical San Antonio TX the end of May. Dean arranged to have a county forensic pathologist and also a forensic anthropologist from a university body farm as speakers.

Distance Learning
In April we launched our newest distance learning investigation video seminars at www.InvestigativeCourses.com. Dean explains how a case last year, in which he testified as an expert this week, was based on the methods and protocols outlined in the course. There are additional distance learning programs provided on the website. We are excited to present this new learning tool.

Conversations with Karen
Karen brings to us a couple interesting topics – the insanity by defense against the death penalty of the prosecution in the Aurora, CO theater mass killing, and the destruction of evidence by law enforcement leading to an exoneration. Karen also reminds us of fallen officers and the true charity of one person to the family of a fallen officer.

Special Guest with Dean
E’Lyn Bryan of Forensic Bureau of Investigations, a Forensic Document Examiner based in Florida, joins Dean for an interesting conversation about the value of her expertise.
