Joyce

Rory interviews Carlton Joyce a partner practicing in Bouhan Falligant’s litigation practice group, since 1993. Mr. Joyce’s litigation practice concentrates in the areas of aviation law, products liability, insurance defense, medical malpractice defense, and business litigation. He is admitted to practice in all federal and state courts in Georgia, the U.S. Supreme Court, and serves on the Federal Court Advisory Panel for the Southern District of Georgia. Before joining the firm in 1993, Mr. Joyce practiced for three years with the Atlanta law firm of Long, Weinberg, Ansley & Wheeler.

Mr. Joyce graduated from Emory University in 1986 with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Political Science. In 1989, he graduated from Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas, Texas. While in college, Mr. Joyce was an officer in Sigma Chi fraternity and was active in the student government, serving two terms in the Emory University Senate. During the summer of 1985, he studied Comparative Constitutional Law at Trinity College in Oxford, England. In law school, he participated in Moot Court, and served as the law school representative to the Southern Methodist University Senate.

Mr. Joyce is a member of the State Bar of Georgia’s Litigation and Aviation Law Sections, the Savannah Bar Association, the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute. He is past President of the Emory University Board of Governors and a member of the Emory University Board of Visitors. In addition, he is past Chairman of the Savannah Sports Council. In 2003, he was selected by the Business Report & Journal as one of the top 40 business leaders in Savannah under age 40. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America, Georgia’s Super Lawyers, and Georgia Trend magazine as one of Georgia’s top lawyers. Mr. Joyce holds an instrument pilot’s license and is a member of the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association.
